The Gates HC7-HC9 Underwater Video Housing is compatible with the Sony HDR-HC5, HDR-HC7 and HDR-HC9.
This housing has controls for On/Off, Record, Standby, Zoom, photo and assign. An optional control for white balance and Tele Macro is also available.
The LCD screen is open and viewable on this housing. This will eliminate the need for an external monitor.

The Gates HC7/HC9 underwater housing sports a big 2x3 in (51x76mm) viewfinder window making the camera LCD easy to see, even from wide viewing angles. This, as well as all other Gates housings, integrate very nicely with the new underwater tripod.

Controls accessed by the housing include On/OFF, Record, Standby, Zoom, Photo, an internal flip filter, and access to the "assign" button. The assign button can be set to control focus, exposure, or white balance shift. An optional control is also available, which will allow access to the cameras white balance function located on the lcd screen. If you choose to take advantage of the optional white balance control, a small portion of the lcd window will be blocked to allow for this control to be installed. The optional control is $97.00.

An optional carry handle is also available which will make general handling of the housing much easier. The Gates HC7/HC9 is the perfect travel companion. It's small size allows the housing, lights and ports to all fit within a 1560 Pelican Case.
