Gates introduces Seal Check
Seal Check provides a fast and easy verification of housing integrity before entering the water.
San Diego, CA – October 25th, 2007 – Gates Underwater Products, the global leader in reliable underwater housings, introduces Seal Check, a new testing product that allows Gates customers to confirm housing integrity prior to water submersion.
In the real world housing leaks occur. Damaged / compromised o-rings, rushed setup, and unfamiliarity with equipment are the top 3 reasons for leaks and floods. Until now, moisture alarms were the only line of defense against water intrusion, often sounding the warning too late.
“Seal Check is like a water alarm that goes off before entering the water” says Pamela Mazey Mertz, Gates Sales Director. “With the increasing cost of cameras utilized underwater, the peace of mind Seal Check offers is unprecedented.”
Seal Check supplements Gates’ legendary reliability and ‘bulletproof’ housing designs by virtually eliminating water intrusion as a cause for downtime. Seal Check is also user-friendly and provides a quick verification of seal integrity.
Seal Check comes as a complete kit in a small, transportable Pelican 1150 case. Factory installation of a test fitting is required and can be done either at time of order or as a retrofit to any Gates housing.

Reliable Fingertip Controls are 100% mechanical—no sticky buttons, faulty electronics or dead batteries! The controls are designed to work in a rotational manner, so that they will not be affected by the pressure at depth. On the few controls that are push-in by design, such as wb shift on some housings, they are designed so that the control can be rotated out of alignment to prevent the control from being depressed by depth pressure. |

Durable, "Bulletproof" machined aluminum, black type III 'hard' anodized finish, and sealed with a nickel-acetate process. This process makes all Gates housings very resilient. On the bottom of each housing is a zinc washer which helps prevent corrosion and will help lengthen the life of the housing. If this washer every deteriorates completely, it can be replaced (at no cost to you) |

2-Year Warranty. All Gates video housings have a 2-year warranty. Only Gates offers this type of warranty. This warranty is renewable and 100% transferrable. At the end of the warranty your housing will need to be sent to Gates Underwater Products, once they receive it, the housing will undergo a complete overhaul and will be ready for two more years of serious underwater videography. |

Internal Flip Filter provides quick, effortless use of the color correction filter. Gates uses
UR Pro Color correction filters, which are available in ‘blue water’ and ‘green water’ versions. Blue water is standard on all Gates housings, green water filters are optional. Both are available in optical polycarbonate and glass.
When ordering specify the housing model and serial number, green or blue water, and glass or optical polycarbonate. |

Accommodates most camcorder battery sizes for maximum shooting between recharges. In most cases all battery sizes are suppported. This determination is made with manufacturers batteries only. |
